Judging This Book by its Cover

Our summer social calendar kicked off with one of our favorite get-togethers, a book signing by the wonderfully talented Ben Mezrich, for his newest non-fiction book, Once Upon a Time in Russia.
Owners of the Boston Red Sox, Linda and John Henry and Restauranteur Seth Greenberg and his wife Sasha hosted an exclusive VIP Launch Party at Serafina to celebrate the publication of Mezrich’s 16th book. This is the first time in two years that Mezrich has released a non-fiction book, his last non-fiction title, Straight Flush graced the bestseller lists, and Russia is slated to do the same… we can’t wait to dive in!

The food, the wine and especially the company made this the perfect night to kick off the rest of what the summer has to bring. And Ben’s new book is the read to rev our beach summer reading engines.

Ben Mezrich’s Seven Wonders Book Signing

Boston barely, just barely, made the list of the Seven Wonders of the World, I mean, next to the Great Pyramid, it’s right up there, but as Bostonians, we are truly in awe of our one-of-a-kind author-extroardinares, Ben Mezrich. He can do it all… a true departure from his previous book, this story, Seven Wonders, takes us along on an adventure of a lifetime with hero Jack Grady.

When Jack’s estranged brother, mathematician Jeremy Grady is murdered, it’s up to him to find out why. Jack’s search leads him on a far-flung journey—from Brazil, India, Peru, and beyond—as he unravels the mystery that links the Seven Wonders of the World, and discovers that Jeremy may have hit upon something that’s been concealed for centuries. With the help of scientist Sloane Costa, they discover a conspiracy to hide a roadmap to the Garden of Eden—and the truth behind a mythological ancient culture. Its fast paced, heart-pounding story line will have you at the edge of your seat and wanting more… lucky for you, this is the first of three installments, with the movie rights already sold to 20th Century Fox with Brett Ratner and James Packer producing this epic thriller.

Last week, we joined Ben and his beautiful wife Tonya at the book signing event at the W in Boston. Ben looked dapper in a suit from The Tannery and shoes from Concepts, and Tonya in my favorite ensemble of the night, a skirt and top by Black Halo, necklace by Melissa Haus and YSL heels which could not out shine the glow of pride and happiness for the success of Ben’s book and the event.

These Ms Fits had an incredible time with an amazing author and his biggest fans…

Who What Wear at Ben Mezrich’s Book Signing

After schmoozing with some amazing women at The Good Ones event, Jessica, our awesome photographer and I quickly hopped a few streets over to the Colonnade Hotel’s roof deck pool for our second event of the evening… heels still on, fashion radar on high, ready to take on the rest of the night…

This party was to celebrate truly one of the most talented authors of our generation, Ben Mezrich and his new novel for middle grade kiddos, called Bringing Down the Mouse. This fun and inspiring story parallels his New York Times bestselling book, Bringing Down the House which inspired the movie, 21.

The guest of honor was flanked by kiddos who were excitedly getting their books signed (not bad for a summer reading story), Ben’s beautiful wife, Tonya, friends and family, and even some members of the Red Sox including owners John Henry and Tom Werner with a surprise visit from the great Pedro Martinez.

Beautiful weather, such a fun crowd, great drinks, and of course, some really great style to show off… Ms. Who What Wear…

Tonya Mezrich, Co-founder of Mike & Ton, wearing Shoshanna dress, Amrita Singh necklace, Ippolita earrings, and Rachel Zoe shoes.

Bianca de la Garza, host of her own television lifestyle and entertainment show coming in January, wearing an Alice and Olivia dress, Yves Saint Laurent clutch, Oscar de la Renta earrings, Jennifer Zeuner necklace and Brian Atwood shoes.

Ok.. we were having too much fun and just started snapping random pics…

And then… these Ms. Fits were off to our last event of the night hosted by photographer Todd Mazer to showcase international artist Jaybo Monk. By that point, the cameras came down and it was time just to chill and take in all of the beautiful art…. then call it a night…
