Holiday Looks For You and Your Mini Me

Tis’ the season to be jolly, (fa la la la la la la la la), and tis’ the season to try and find a perfect outfit for all of those holiday parties for you and your mini me. As a stylist, I get so many questions about what to wear to holiday parties and for their kiddos, the request that’s been on top of my list is, “please help me find something for my little girl.” We thought it would be fun to put together a few party looks that you and your special date could wear together and be merry and bright!

Winter Whites

What I share with all of my clients during this season is that just because you’re going to a Christmas party, doesn’t mean you’re a buh-humbug if you’re not wearing red or green. Try something new! One of my all time favorite colors (in general) but especially for the winter is white.

asos

Asos Lace Up Contour Midi Dress, $117.

Risky color for the little ones, I know, but gosh, don’t they just look so angelic?

H&M

H&M Tulle and Lace Dress, $29.99

Little Black Dress

If you’re the LBD type of gal, then by all means go for it, but perhaps try and find something with a unique silhouette or feature that will make you stand out a bit.

nastygal

Off the Shoulder Dress, $428.

Junior Gaultier Quilted Dress, $186.

forever

Forever 21 Rose Dress, $29.90.

Pretty Princess Tulle

This is one of my favorite fabrics, but, can easily make you look like a pretty pretty princess. Although your daughter might love it, I suggest sticking to this ethereal fabric when it’s used in the small details of the dress or if the dress itself has a bit more of a sexier silhouette.

saks

Marchesa Notte Embroidered Tulle Dress, $447.

bergdorf

Halston Heritage Dress, $395.

jcrew

Tutu Du Monde Tulle Dress, $226.

Rooooarrrr

Animal print is one of those prints that everyone thinks they can’t wear, but when they actually do, they absolutely love it. And I think wearing animal print during the holidays is just so fun and unique! Give it a try this year… New Year’s resolution?

neimans

MICHAEL Michael Kors Leopard Print Dress, $160.

jcrew2

J.Crew Shift Dress, $88.

jcrew4

J.Crew Zebra Print Dress, $62.99.

Heavy Metal

Metallics just scream “happy holidays!” so why not incorporate a metallic piece into your ensemble? I love the pairing of this glitzy skirt with a more subdued simple black top because it’s festive but not too over the top.

topshop

Topshop Metallic Pleated Midi Skirt, $130.

I’m obsessed with this little 70s inspired metallic jumpsuit. A disco queen in the making!

metallic2

Silver Metallic Jumpsuit, $17.

metallic

Milly Minis Metallic Jacquard Dress, $195.

Screaming Sequins

Ok, I guess sequins trump metallics in the festive department any day, but they’re also much more daring for some of us. If you want to play it safe, I suggest finding a fun top like this and pairing it with a simple black pant, or if you really want to get “crazy,” a pair of black leather pants and killer (and by killer, I mean, amazingly sexy) black pumps.

sequin

TopShop Embellished Fringe Top, $99.

jcrew5

J.Crew Sequin Tank, $139.99.

Leather and Lace

Leather or faux leather, whatever your preference, is the quintessential choice for cold weather wear. It can be sexy or demure, playful or serious, you can never go wrong in all leather or a piece here or there to tie the whole look together.

zara

Zara Faux Leather Dress, $69.90.

leather2

Mini Girls Navy Leather Leggings, $20.

Lace

I mean, how pretty is lace? It’s perfect for the holidays because you absolutely cannot go wrong with this look for the season. And this dress by the way, I know, totally unique, but I think, totally a conversation piece too!

lace2

For Love & Lemons Vivian Mini Dress, $268.

lace

Alexis Lace Top, $363.

lace3

Tadashi Shoji Lace Dress, $278.

Flower Power

Anyone who knows me knows I’m obsessed with flowers… and equally, a gorgeous flower print. I have to thank my lucky stars, or the handful of designers, who a few years ago finally encouraged us that floral print in the winter is not something to gasp at… we’ve come a long way ladies! A dark floral print on a thicker satin fabric like the dress below would just be so beautiful standing underneath the mistletoe.

Chi Chi London Floral Print Dress, $103.91.

floral2

Talulah Only Love Strapless Dress, $153.

dress

Halabaloo Floral Print Dress, $39.59.

And, just because I couldn’t help myself, these few dresses were just so adorable, I couldn’t not share them…

New York Fashion Week – Our Faves

One of my favorite weeks of the year, New York Fashion Week has come and gone, but not without giving us a glimpse of what’s to come next spring. On this year’s runways there was enough black and white to make a herd of zebras jealous, there was outstanding hope for the crop top trend, and there was enough lace, picnic plaids and floral, to uproot an English garden party. Floral has always been and will always be might favorite print, but what I’m really loving for spring 2015 is the return of the lace… and I mean a lot of it! Everyone from Oscar de la Renta (obvi) to Zimmerman put their special touches on this delicate trend and it just makes me yearn for spring time that much more.

Now that NYFW is officially over, we’ve scoured each and every collection to find our favorite pieces. Not an easy feat, with so many amazing designers… check out our most coveted looks from the spring 2015 collections…
